Disaster avoided!!Our Notion sensors just saved us a lot of time and money!! At midnight, it detected a leak in our downstairs bathroom ( % 0.00) When we investigated, we noticed water running down the walls and onto the tiles where the sensor was located ( % -15.56) We called a plumber first thing the next morning and the issue was fixed by ( % 11.67) am and only cost us $ ( % 0.00) Had we not had Notion sensors, it may have been over a week before we detected the issue as we rarely use the downstairs bathroom and the damage and cost would have meant an insurance claim for sure!! He followed up with Notion’s IT staff and contacted me to share the solution - which turned out not to be a sensor problem! Notion saved me when my water heater had a major leak by notifying me before there was any water damage! Now, with my experience with Noah, it reaffirms my confidence with the product and service! DisappointingI’ve got Notion as a promo with Lemonade insurance ( % 0.00) It took over months to arrive ( % 0.00) I’ve finally received it today ( % 0.00) It’s pretty easy to set up but it’s quite disappointing! I was expecting to have the option to have the sensor make a sound when a door is opened ( % 8.33) If I’m sleeping and someone enters my house, getting a notification on my phone won’t help! What’s the point?! Then they advertise it as being able to add several tasks to the same sensor but that’s not exactly it ( % 9.38) You can only add tasks and not any tasks ( % 0.00) For example, for the door, the only options are temperature and leaks ( % 0.00) I live in California so temperature is not needed ( % 13.64) And leaks is useless when you have to install it at the top of the door! Notion - what's all of the commotion?I put the bridge on the second floor and the router was in the living room ( % 0.00) I put one sensor on the side door and one on the front both of which are one floor down ( % -15.56) At first the bridge was being snippy with me saying error ( % 25.00) Happened like three times, but Hippo policy said install it or lose your discount ( % 0.00) So fearing for my wallet, I continued to try to get the bridge running and finally it worked ( % 0.00) My guess is if this is anything like the ( % 0.00) ghz wifi bulbs (no hub ones) out there, the bridge during initial setup should be close to your phone and the router (the router for me was just at the bottom of a set of stairs and this bridge at the top) ( % 25.00) That was honestly the most painful part (way more painful to wait for the spectrum modem to stop rickrolling me by staying on a blue color indicator for internet before crushing my soul by fading out and back to white) ( % 6.67) Adding sensors which I did after sticking them up was neat ( % 0.00) I like how easy it is to get it off the mount and the batteries are easily accessible as is the qr code ( % 40.42) It doesn't tell you humidity (which I was curious about) and for the price of a multi-purpose sensor I was hoping for a little bit more ( % 7.08) However having the temperature at least noted is a boon (especially if you have an upstairs bathroom and you were going to put one up there for the water sensor) ( % -15.00) With the IFTTT integration you can with a free account set up a rule where if the sensor reaches a max or min temperature do something with a smart thermostat) ( % 30.71) Nest users will already know IFTTT probably doesn't have much going on for them, but I was looking at an Ecobee one and there was plenty I could make it do in response to these triggers ( % 20.00) Some were weird like why would you make a schedule based on temperature sensed ( % -50.00) ( % 0.00) ( % 0.00) (bro shouldn't you have set up that schedule already ( % 0.00) ( % 0.00) ?), but that's not relevant to Notion ( % -20.00) Also kind of confusing the min and max temperatures used for IFTTT trigger are not set in the IFTTT app, but rather by clicking on the sensor in the Notion app ( % 15.00) You have to go to each sensor if I'm not mistaken which seems painful, but come on it's free and I'll not be a choosing beggar ( % -15.00) So yeah if you put one upstairs then you'll not need to buy a separate temperature sensor ( % 0.00) If you have no bathroom up there though, then honestly price shop ( % 60.00) For door sensing the notification that the door has opened or closed is impressively fast ( % 5.00) It was about seconds ( % 0.00) In the app the door still appears closed when it's open ( % -5.00) This is because every time there's a change to the info reported prior to the sensor going off, the screen needs to be refreshed ( % 0.00) I believe there's a drag down and refresh option, but don't quote me on that ( % -12.78) It's intuitive enough to refresh it so you'll figure it out ( % 0.00) I feel like these would make good window glass breakage sensors if stuck on the window, but considering there's a magnet accessory that only works if used with the sensor it might require even more money than just a regular two part magnet ( % 30.00) I'd price shop ( % 0.00) All in all this was not purchased and was freely provided to me by my Hippo Insurance policy ( % 40.00) It's small and slightly stylish even ( % 12.50) I don't know how I would go about moving it, I'm hoping there's a replacement mount sticker I can get for a cheap fee or make one myself with command strips ( % 40.00) I would like more to use just as water sensors, but I'm going to make sure I can't just use a water sensor and save some money ( % 50.00) If adding more notion saves me more on my insurance and Notion continues providing me with subscription free notifications on my phone and IFTTT integration, then I would totally just get their sensors and be done with it ( % 35.00) I also want to say that I've been looking for a security alarm system ( % 0.00) I was thinking it should be Wyze since they are turning heads with their cheap costs and system is easy on the eyes ( % 41.67) Notion security system is going to be $/mo I believe I read somewhere ( % 0.00) It's a bit high for me ( % 16.00) If there's a free plan with no professional monitoring though and their system looks as decent as these sensors and they keep standing behind their product (it's both reassuring and little sketchy that we are already on v sensors and bridges - but WAY less sketchy that the hippo policy got me the latest version equipment and not a version or because they wanted to get rid of the stock), then perhaps I'll motion for more Notion after I put on some more hand lotion ( % 14.03) Date of experience: January , ( % 0.00)

Paid for itself after detecting first leakMy home has dual hot water heaters ( % 25.00) These fail on average every years and when they do, they flood the basement to varying degrees depending how long the leak goes undetected ( % -23.33) Needless to say this is frustrating ( % -45.00) I installed notion sensors in my home ( % 0.00) ( % 0.00) ( % 0.00) including one for water leaks from the hot water tanks ( % 25.00) Within a couple of months the water leak sensor alerted us to a leak and we were able to shut off the failed hot water tank before it got the entire basement wet ( % 3.00) This was quite a relief ( % 0.00) The notion system paid for itself already and eliminated the need for a big cleanup ( % 0.00) I am a big fan on this technology ( % 0.00) It excels in reporting and monitoring which is what I am looking for in a system ( % 0.00) Date of experience: February , ( % 0.00)
