I should have gone to an optometrist that actually took his time with his patients. ( % 0.00) I have been a Costco member since in the Orlando FL area. Their requirement that each person has to have a membership is ridiculous. ( % -33.33) I am on my daughters card and when my husband and I went to get exam and glasses, they said we couldn't buy his because he wasn't on the membership. I went to Costco for a pair of glasses. ( % 0.00) When they came back, I could not see distance well. ( % 0.00) They told me they were fine and maybe my prescription was wrong. ( % 0.00) The Dr. became very frustrated as he could not get my vision right, he was trying to go off of my present prescription, I could not see clearly or read pretty much of what he was trying. ( % 17.22) Before this happened, I decided to buy a high quality set of frames, and reuse them as my prescription changed. ( % 16.00) Back then I also checked Costco's inventory and found them to be designed to last me one year at most, with careful handling. ( % 10.00) Therefore i went with my old reliable source. ( % 10.00) This December i decided to try Costco for the first time and get a new set of glasses. ( % 19.32) After waiting out in an aisle for minutes at the El Paso Costco, an employee finally talked to me. ( % 0.00) After explaining my intent to reuse my current frames, I was surprised when he said that the shop that Costco uses in San Diego is very picky about accepting work involving existing frames, including designer, custom ordered, and even high quality ones. ( % 11.50) the excuse is that they don't want responsibility for damaging existing frames. ( % -5.00) if any of the lower-quality frames they supply fails, it can be replaced under warranty and insurance will take care of the cost. ( % -50.00) In the end, the employee recommended that I order one of their cheaper frames. ( % 0.00) I made it clear I was not interested in doing this, so in the end the employee suggested other places to try and get my new lenses. I recently purchased a pair of progressive lenses, and the field of vision is not only a finger width wide, but they are uneven on the lenses. Both my wife and I have gotten multi-focal no line glasses from them. ( % 0.00) The glasses have been OK and I haven't had problems with the anti-reflective coating. ( % 41.67) The optician sold me on the "multifunction lenses" version with a blue coating for screen use for my second pair, which were less expensive. ( % -16.67) I thought the only difference was the coating because the optician failed to explain the difference in the lens itself as compared to the progressive lenses. ( % -25.00) He merely pointed to a laminated graphic of a computer screen. ( % -25.00) When I received the second pair, I was only able to focus by looking through the very bottom of the lenses. ( % 17.50) That made the image very blurry for reading, watching tv, walking around, and driving. I ordered a month supply of contacts for BOTH eyes (different lenses for each eye). ( % 0.00) My order was immediately confirmed by email. ( % 0.00) When I opened the box, half of box was filled with packing materials and only the contacts for left eye were in the box. ( % -12.50) Despite the email stating my order was shipped and NO emails notifying me of anything amiss, I found the order for my right eye was marked "canceled" with no further explanation. ( % 12.86) I called Costco.com customer service and after a lengthy phone tree process was eventually connected to a very polite agent who said that is was the "vendors" fault and that they (whoever they were) should have notified me that my order was cancelled and explained why. ( % 20.00) This is patently absurd. ( % -50.00) No matter what Costco.com is doing in the back of the house, they are the "vendor" and the sole point of contact I had at any point. ( % 0.00) I still have no idea who the "vendor" supposedly is or why the order was partially cancelled. I have for decades been going to the full range of moderate to expensive eyeglass stores, sometimes getting pairs I loved and sometimes not. I have found that the lens at Costco are sturdier than many you get at Target, Walmart, and especially at Lens Crafters. So I have been in times adjusting my glasses. ( % 0.00) To which I was told in order to get the issue fixed I would need to go back to my doctor get another eye test done which I would have to pay for, and then go back in to Costco and they would redo my glasses. ( % 46.67) My biggest gripe is that the anti-reflective coating as of May is not perfectly clear. Needed to get glasses for my -year-old dad... ( % 0.00) I had dad in the car with me but I did not take him in to the store because it was cold and windy out, he uses a walker and was running very low on energy that day.... Very poor customer service - the specialists are more concerned about lunch breaks and the customers waiting than the customers that they are actually serving. I started to wear glasses years ago and from the start I only have used progressive lenses, I have purchased glasses primarily from Wal- Mart, I purchase one to three pair per year. ( % 20.00) earlier on in my eye glass purchasing history I purchased a few pair from Eye-mart. ( % -10.00) and only had one experience where the correction was not appropriate and that was a pair of safety glasses with polycarbonate lenses, the near correction was impossible for me to read any thing, the lenses were remade with Nikon High index lenses and they worked perfectly, to my knowledge the two lens manufacturers that my glasses were made from were Zeiss or Nikon all high index progressive. ( % 7.19) a few years ago I tried Costco Optical and purchased the high index lenses and had the same experience I had years earlier with the safety glasses with no ability to see clearly close up, so I returned the lenses and returned to Wal-Mart and the glasses there again worked perfectly. ( % 17.67) Since the lenses at Costco are so much cheaper than Wal-Mart I though I would give it a try again, so I purchased a pair of high index lenses for general use and a pair of drive wear sunglasses for in the car, once again the same situation the distance and intermediate correction were fine but the up close was impossible to se clearly, I returned them and the Associate handling the return was not happy with the situation, he made statements " we sell pairs of glasses a week and they work for everybody else" and " you should not purchase glasses from Costco any more." Not sure what the deal is but in + years of wearing glasses I have never been so satisfied. ( % 12.50) My wife told me to go check out Costco after I realized the glasses I wanted and would normally have purchased were $. ( % 15.00) I have always purchased whatever glasses I wanted at the nicest shops in town regardless of price, but for some reason I had an open mind for a few minutes and went to Costco. I had a great experience with Costco Optical! ( % 100.00) I had just received a less-than-ideal pair of eyeglasses from another well-known, pricey company. ( % 0.00) I took my new prescription to Costco Optical on a friend's recommendation, after checking out the reviews online. ( % 13.64) The eyeglasses I got at Costco were perfect in every way. ( % 100.00) My lenses are progressive, and they are perfect--no sharp lines of demarcation or blurriness. ( % -12.50) As with any good optical dispensary, if you were to experience any problems with fit or vision, they will work with you to fix it. ( % 55.00) I had never been in a Costco, but I purchased a membership (necessary to get eyeglasses at Costco Optical and well worth it, as the total cost for these glasses was far less than half the price I paid recently at another well-known company). ( % 0.95) Also, I took in frames that I had purchased elsewhere. ( % 0.00) There was a very small charge for doing so (I believe it was $). ( % -32.50) Again, the total price of my eyeglasses, including Costco membership, was FAR less than the price of other optical dispensaries. Costco is the only place I will ever buy my eyeglasses. ( % 0.00) Did you know that most vision insurance plans, the reason they steer you to their "in network" providers, is because the vision insurance also owns the optical store chain? ( % 50.00) The optical store is obscenely overpriced, which is why your glasses come out so expensive even though you think you're saving money staying "in network". ( % -50.00) It's a total scam. ( % 0.00) Costco has a great selection of frames in all price ranges, including Costco-brand frames and designer frames. ( % 80.00) The only difference is the hugely lower cost. ( % 20.00) "Ah", you say, "but they're not in my provider network". ( % 0.00) Who cares? ( % 0.00) Buy your frames and glasses totally out of pocket, submit to your vision plan as an "out of network" claim. ( % 0.00) You won't get the same allowance, but you don't need to. ( % 0.00) The cost can be as much as % lower and your net cost out-of-pocket after your claim is reimbursed will still be WAY lower. ( % 10.00) And they even DO accept some insurance plans. ( % 0.00) Don't get suckered by your vision plan. ( % 0.00) There's a reason they send you to the providers they do-- they OWN them! ( % 75.00)

I recently purchased a pair of glasses at Costco in fishers. ( % 0.00) I spoke to a young lady at the desk and was told the exam would be $ and my progressive, transision, no glare, scratch resistant everything you can get lenses would be a mere $. ( % -20.00) I chose my frames that were only $. ( % 0.00) They even had semi-frameless titanium for $. ( % 0.00) All included an unbelievably low price of $ with no insurance involved and no tax. I just had the most amazing support from Dr. Philip B at the Kingston Ontario store. ( % 55.00) I had a piece of tree pollen in my eye that required a referral to see a specialist. I have needed my glasses tightened up for a long time. ( % -5.00) The company I bought them from did near to nothing for a year now until they completely fell apart at Costco. I was called to pick up my bifocals as being ready. ( % 20.00) I arrived after traveling min and as they tried on my glasses found that only one lense had been covered with material used for pre cataracts. ( % 16.67) Why were they not checked first to see if they looked ready to be picked up without causing not only a & / hour of lost time, but also the lost money on gasoline in these days of high prices. I ordered contacts for the first time at Costco and now I know it is not a pleasant experience. ( % -5.83) First set one eye was imputed to their system incorrectly. ( % 25.00) So, after days of waiting for my contacts the came in wrong due to input by the optical dept. This is about my first experience of NOT getting an eye exam at the Santee Costco location - not the purchasing of glasses. ( % 25.00) It is hard to get time off of work so I scheduled the first appointment of the day, am. ( % -2.08) I arrived on time and waited until :am. While trying my new prescription glass, they made a weird sound. ( % 1.21) Shawn said that there was nothing wrong with them. ( % 12.50) Then the nose pieces molded almost immediately and luckily they replaced them. ( % 33.33) The frame also chipped and they refused to do anything & instead blamed me for scratching them. ( % 0.00) I am very mindful of my glasses. ( % 20.00) Even if they were incorrectly handled - which they weren't - the finish should not be so fragile that it comes off within mos of purchase. I am a long-time member of Costco and will remain one, however, this is my first time shopping at the Optical department Costco because they were the cheapest, I went there with my prescription, and the guy assisted with shopping for the frame, and my glasses order got done. I am a long time member of costco, and will remain one, however I will avoid the Optical department. ( % -5.00) I have eye surgery coming up in a couple weeks, and my eye surgeon asked me to go the next couple of weeks without a contact in my one eye that will be operated on. ( % 0.00) So I took a pair of glasses in that needed one clear lens, next to one lens that was already in the glasses from a previous prescription. ( % -2.22) My eye surgeon recommended Costco because they were cheapest, since I only needed -weeks of wear. ( % 0.00) The lady who assisted me seemed annoyed with my request, but went ahead and took the order. ( % -40.00) She told me that even though I only needed one clear lens, they still had to charge me full rate for two lenses - which was fine by me. ( % 21.67) Of course, after having to push my surgery out a couple weeks to wait for the glasses to come back from their lab, it was very disappointing to go in and find that they went ahead and made both lenses clear and that they threw away the only good lens I had. ( % 0.40) When I called in to tell them of the mistake, they just said it sounded like a mistake, nothing they could do unless I wanted to start the process over with them. ( % 0.00) No thank you. I have never had an issue with the glasses I have gotten from Costco but today I had the worst customer service experience ever. ( % -100.00) When I got there there was one other customer sitting at the end of the counter. ( % -12.50) Both employees present were working on repairing a frame which I assumed was for her. ( % 0.00) Later I discovered it was for someone who wasn't even there, and eventually there were of us waiting while the of them worked on the frame. ( % 0.00) They did finally call someone else to help, and during my interaction with her (after I'd been waiting mins) I learned that my glasses had been at the store a week ago and the reason I wasn't notified is that the person who helped me on order day said I wanted to be notified by email but there is no email in the file. ( % 0.00) And she assured me that day that I would be notified by text. ( % 0.00) Not only that, I called the store days ago and asked about the status and was told they were not there, when they actually were. ( % 0.00) Had I known they were there earlier I would not have been caught up in that mess today. ( % -73.33) I have several other pair of sunglasses that are older and they have never had any distortion issues from heat....Someone mentioned they apply all the "coatings" in one process unlike in the past and that is when problems starting to occur. After purchasing the frames and glasses for over $ and after two years of use the poly carbonate lenses that they sold me started to de-laminate and scratch very easy... This is the second pair I bought in a year. ( % 0.00) The mirrors are distorted , so i get talked into glasses that seem smaller, more petite. ( % 25.00) Both times, I get home and the frames are huge, unattractive and the lenses are distorted on sides so feel car sick. ( % -15.71) I hate my glasses and can not return as Costco no longer allows returns of prescription glasses. ( % -80.00)
